The smart fortwo 'B Service' is a major service.

It is expected to take around two hours. A printed service sheet will be provided, noting any items of concern.

The service consists of the following: 

Engine Bay

Engine Oil & Oil Filter Change

Replace All 6 Spark Plugs

Every 37,500miles replace Fuel filter (typically every other B service)

Replace air filter element.

Check for fluid leaks from engine and transmission

Check poly V-Belt(s) for wear, tension and damage

Under Vehicle

Check suspension components for wear, leaks, damage & play

Check brake pads, discs for wear, corrosion, free movement of pads etc.

Check brake caliper bolts for tightness

Check visible brake hoses, and pipes for security, corrosion, leaks and damage.

Damage and corrosion to chassis, undertrays etc.

Check driveshafts, and CV joints & boots for damage and wear.

Check exhaust for security, corrosion and damage.

Check turbocharger for damage, leaks, security etc.

Check clutch actuator for play.

Check gearbox oil level.

Check for cooling system leaks.

Fluids

Check brake fluid level, check water content / last change.

Check coolant level, and strength

Check battery cell acid level & vent pipe

Interior

Check central locking

Lubricate door hinges and door catch

Check instrument cluster illumination, including warning lights

Check handbrake operation and travel

Check roof operation, and lubricate (on cabrio models)

Check seatbelt operation

Check horn

Check front and rear wipers

Reset Service Interval on the instrument cluster.

Exterior

Check Tyres for wear, and damage.

Check Wheels for damage, corrosion, wear.

Remove and Refit all four wheels, clean and apply copper grease to hub centre

Remove front pads, clean carrier, apply anti-seize compound and refit pads

Remove rear drums, clean shoes and drum, adjust shoes, and refit drum.

Torque Wheels to correct torque.
